Volunteer

HGNA welcomes your participation, no matter how much or how little time you can spare. We take seriously our role as educators and role models for girls, but we also realize that volunteer hours are precious. We will happily accept whatever time you can devote to helping the girls of our community, whether it’s on a project basis or as an ongoing commitment. Or let us know about your special talents so we can find the perfect place for them in HGNA.





Current Needs

Director of Marketing and Public Relations

If you have a passion for getting the word out this position might be for you.  Responsibilities of this position would include, overseeing the development/updating of all marketing materials including brochures, stationery, education handouts, program fliers, business cards, etc.  You would also be responsible for issuing press releases, co-planning Information Nights when needed, and overseeing the creation of the Annual Report.  Time commitment would be approximately 2 hours per week.

Director of Communications

If texting is your second language, this position might appeal to your social media side.  This person would oversee the maintenance and updating of our website, facilitate changes to the website, utilize our email marketing system and work to introduce utilizing other forms of social media such as Facebook and Twitter.   Time commitment would be approximately 2 hours per week.

Chick Chat Co-Chair

If you dwell in the details, this co-chair opportunity could be for you.  This person would work with two other co-chairs to plan, coordinate and execute a day-long workshop for 4th-6th grade girls.  This March event is a well-attended (175 girls) and well-loved cornerstone of HGNA.  Commitment spans from October to March — with most work being completed in the two months prior to the event.

Mom Chat Coordinator

If you love an opportunity share a cup of coffee, good conversation and information, this position could be for you.  This person would work with the Chick Chat team to research and recruit a morning speaker, and schedule and plan a casual coffee and speaker opportunity for the moms (approximately 80) of the girls who are attending the March Chick Chat.  Time commitment would span from October to March — with most work being completed in the two months prior to the event.
